A thrilling encounter is expected when leaders Cavalier host Constant Spring in today's feature match in the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Claro Super League at Winchester Park, starting at 1 p.m.

Cavalier (12 points) moved to the top of the standings with a 2-0 victory over Meadhaven United in last week's action. Rae Town slipped to second after they played to goalless draw with fifth-place Mountain View.

Constant Spring currently lie third but they are yet to be beaten, having won three of their games and drawn two. However, they enjoyed the largest margin of victory in the last round when they defeated Duhaney Park 5-1.

identical defensive records

Both Cavalier and Constant Spring have identical defensive records going into the sixth round of matches, having conceded three goals apiece, while on the offensive end Cavalier, have found the net 12 times with their leading marksmen, Locksley Thompson and Gee Daley, netting three times each.

Constant Spring's leading goalscorer is Fabian Cooke, who has scored two of his team's nine goals.

Cavalier's coach David Laylor is expecting a tough match but believes his team's style of play will work in its favour.

"Constant Spring is a strong team so we are going to go tough and maintain our discipline in our style of play. We have realised that our style of play has been working, it has worked against good opposition and lower opposition," Laylor said.

"Going forward, every game is a final. This is the only way you can win the Super League," he added.

Jerome Waite, coach of Constant Spring, is looking forward to a victory.

"Cavalier is a fairly good team but they can be beaten because it has been done since the start of the season," Waite said.

"This is our third top-of-the-table clash since the start of the season and we have drawn the other two, but the difference is that the playing surface will suit us. We are looking forward to a victory," he added.

unbeaten teams

The round's other games will see one of the other two unbeaten teams, Mountain View United (9), welcoming eighth-place Real Mona (4) to Excelsior High School, while the third unbeaten team, Rae Town (11), will be on the road to ninth-place Duhaney Park (4).

Seventh-place Barbican (7) will entertain bottom-of-the-table Meadhaven (1) at the Barbican field, while sixth-place Jamaica Defence Force (8) will be looking to get the better of fourth-place Santos (10) at Up Park Camp. Bull Bay (2), now 11th, aim to leapfrog Maverley/Hughenden (3) when they host them at Bull Pen.
