Garlic: Has several protective properties which impact on the cells and help reduce fatty deposits and bring down levels of fat. Its pungent flavour makes it a perfect addition to entrees.

Oatmeal: An excellent product for fighting cholesterol and is fat-soluble fibre which keeps you feeling full while boosting metabolism.

Broccoli: A high-fibre green vegetable loaded with calcium which many studies have associated with weight loss.

Grapefruit: Packed with vitamin C, this citrus fruit is believed to have fat-fighting properties and promote weight loss.

Flax seeds: Rich in soluble fibre and omega-3 essential fatty acids which boost metabolism.

Lemon: On waking, drink warm water with a dash of lemon to kick-start metabolism.

Apples: A great source of pectin which binds to toxins and help remove them from the body, as well as limiting the amount of fat the cells can absorb.
