Welcome solutions offered on crime

Published: Monday | November 2, 2009

The Editor, Sir:

After reading the letters printed yesterday, I am happy to see persons providing meaningful suggestions towards the solution to our crime and other problems.

It is sad, though, that these voices are not heard daily. In addition to some of these solutions that have been proposed, I would like to ask the media houses, especially the radio and television stations, to run some programmes where the families of those who are left behind, after losing their lives to violent crimes, are allowed to speak about their losses and how their lives have been affected.

These interviews should run throughout the day, on the hour, every hour. Again, I call on church leaders to get involved and save us. They should remember that they chose to become ambassadors for Christ in this country so, therefore, they should not shun their responsibilities, which include the spreading of love.

I am, etc.,
